PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Throughout a 25-year career as an executive within two Fortune 500 financial institutions and a public accounting firm, Jen has led teams large and small responsible for timely and accurate financial analysis, accounting, and reporting. Jen has extensive experience analyzing financial transactions and results, collaborating cross-functionally on large and complex projects, and presenting to executives and boards.
During her time at Capital One, Jen was a Vice President within Finance and led a team in evaluating investments, acquisitions, and divestitures and working across the company to implement new accounting rules. Prior to joining Capital One, Jen spent a decade with Fannie Mae in various executive leadership roles responsible for $2 trillion in single-family and multifamily mortgage loan and real estate accounting, SEC reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, and a large strategic initiative to design and build a complex accounting system. Before joining Fannie Mae, Jen spent over a decade with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) auditing financial services clients.
In addition to leveraging her deep experience on the Bull City Commons condominium project, Jen currently works as a leadership coach providing one-on-one leadership coaching to rising leaders and contributes to the growth and development of a nonprofit through board service and financial planning and analysis.
Jen earned a Leadership Coaching Certificate from Georgetown University. She has completed the Harvard Business School Executive Development Program for Leaders and the KPMG Executive Leadership Institute for Women program. Jen earned a bachelor of science in commerce with a concentration in accounting and a minor in mathematics from the University of Virginia.
Jen moved to Durham in 2019 with her wife and daughter. They have all enjoyed getting to know Durham, the Ninth Street area, and the Bull City Commons community and are very excited to move into our new cohousing condominium.
